Forestry Management

In this intensive, all day program, secondary students will learn the basics of sustainable forestry management. Through a series of hands-on investigations, they will discover the ecological, economic and social values of forestry. Students will be introduced to a variety of forest assessment techniques including tree identification, tree coring, measuring height and DBH of a tree to determine tree volume, and also evaluating the health of a tree and a forest stand.
