Wetland Wonders

Wetlands are extremely important and fragile habitats that play a critical role in the ecosystem. In this program we will discuss the various functions of wetlands and investigate the biodiversity present in the Shaw Pond. Conditions permitting, we will sample the pond for aquatic macroinvertebrates and learn how to identify them using a dichotomous key. Students may also hike to the wetland and explore the edge of the Snake River to learn about the diversity of wet habitats on our property.
